The End of an Era

When Joshua dismissed[b] the people, the Israelites went to their allotted portions of territory,[c] intending to take possession of the land. The people worshiped[d] the Lord throughout Joshua’s lifetime and as long as the elderly men[e] who outlived him remained alive. These men had witnessed[f] all the great things the Lord had done for Israel.[g]
